Frank Gay and the Gayblades - Hades b/w Down Bound Train

As the amorous inscription on the record above indicates, ol' Eddie might not have been much at spelling, but he certainly knew his stuff when it came to kickass instrumentals.

I also dig the vocal side in a slightly hokey b-movie theme song sort of way.

The Johnsons - (Ke)Naveral As Well b/w Last Waltz

Hazed and glazed Barrett-friendly foggy drugden lurch. Couldn't really turn up any info on these particular The Johnsons except what is found on the inserts provided (1997; Pittsburgh, PA; dudes ran their own cassette/record label).

Honcho Overload - Miserable b/w Sugarfoot

An all-time favorite anthem of misanthropy and scorned affections. Dedicate it to that not-so-special someone and hope it blows apart their mind.

Blast Off Country Style

Just about anyone I've made a mixtape for in the past, oh, twelve years or so will have heard at least one side of this wigglyworm. I still love it!

Jad Fair - Short Songs

Twelve bite-sized rambles on a variety of subjects from Jad & friends. Even if you hate this, it'll be over before you can decide what to put on next.

Lil Bunnies

Sweet find from a record store closeout in Rockford a few years back. Sacramento dementor bunnies circa 1998. Kinda like The Electic Eels and Brainbombs trying to write children's music together.

Here is a video of a video and more info can be found on this old Static Party post.

The Marquis' - Viddy This 7"

Pretty cool slab of power pop, methinks. I was maybe expecting less songcraft and more hilarity due to the excessive amount of leather pants on display. Not that this isn't still somewhat hilarious, but it rocks and the drums sound fantastic. Can't find much info but it seems these guys were from Chicago.

rough rips

Gonna post some vinyl finds here and there.

Probably mostly 7 inches cuz i'm lazy like that.

Enjoy!
